VANS Vault is dropping the Ostrich Pack consisting of two popular sneaker models, Era 46 LX and Mid Skool 77 LX. Both sneakers are detailed with the distinct ostrich leather panels subtly incorporated on its uppers. Premium grade leather material covers the rest of the shoes accented by leather tags embossed with the VANS logo. Two colorways are produced for each style in Black/Golden Yellow and Andorra/Antique White color schemes. White vulcanized soles finish off the footwear with color coded stripes on the foxing and matching VANS Vault heel patch. Foot Patrol in UK is selling these already or check your local VANS Vault dealer.

Another VANS OTW creation is heading our way this month. Created in part by one of its OTW Advocate, tattoo artist Mister Cartoon, the VANS OTW Alomar became the perfect medium for this particular project. By exchanging his tattoo gun with a sewing machine, Cartoon cleverly swap his signature ink for some threads. Neither etched or imprinted, Cartoon’s clown graphics and iconic scripts are embroidered to Alomar’s full grain leather & nubuck upper instead. To further accentuate the special edition, VANS OTW added a custom footbed as well as woven lining. The limited Mister Cartoon x VANS OTW Alomar will be available in the coming weeks at select VANS OTW retailers, like KICKS/HI, Shoe Biz SF, and VANS DQM General.

The classic ’80s-era sneaker, one of the brand’s premier models from its Force line of basketball kicks, has been radically remade. With utmost sadness and a heavy heart, we learned just minutes ago from a brief statement sent out by Apple that its co-founder and former CEO, Steve Jobs, has died. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve”, the statement continued. He was 56 years old. No words can put into context the impact Jobs had on the modern world. Through his persistence, very often at odds with the marketplace and even Apple staffs, he was able to alter the landscape of our relationship with technology. In doing so, Jobs also enable all of us, especially users of the array of Apple gadgets, to envision the possibilities beyond the horizon. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jobs’ family and love ones. Collectively, we say “Thank You, Steve. Virginia’s Commonwealth has teamed up with Saucony on a pair of Jazz Low Pro, a slimmed down version of the brand’s popular Jazz Original model, first introduced in 1981. The collaborative sneaker swaps out the traditional nylon and suede materials for an upper built entirely with tonal nubuck, replete with leather lining and rope laces. Fresh from the Frankfurt Motor Show last month where its debut received an overwhelming response, it is almost certain Alfa Romeo and the brand’s parent company, FIAT, will put the C4 concept car into production. Today comes another hint of its probable launch in the near future as Alfa Romeo announced a brand new turbo engine. Starting in 2013, Alfa Romeo’s facility at Pratola Serra will begin the production of a new turbo engine. Though the displacement will only be 1.8 liter, because of its direct injection, the engine is capable of producing 300 horsepower. That along with an all-aluminum construct makes it the ideal power plant for the new 4C, in place of the originally purported 200-horsepower, 1.75-liter turbo engine. However, there is no information thus far the 4C will be available over this side of the Atlantic.

The 3 are also the tenet to the new Team Jordan Signature Footwear – Jordan CP3.V for Chris Paul, Jordan Fly Wade II for Dwyane Wade, and finally the Jordan Melo M8 for Carmelo Anthony. An intimate design process between players and their own assigned designer started months ago, resulting in evolutionary creations that are revolutionary as well. For Chris Paul, designer Tom Luedecke took into account the player’s need for speed with a dual density cushioning scheme. Just light enough for Paul to push-off on the court yet durable from the constant wear. Dwyane Wade wanted a design that will propel him to new heights. Mark Smith replied with Lunarlon, the lightest foam material Nike has to date. New York is a hard place to live. It is even harder to play on the city’s centerpiece basketball court, Madison Square Garden. A reason why Justin Taylor added both Zoom Air and Max Air in tune to Carmelo Anthony‘s explosive athleticism. 3 different interpretations of basketball from 3 different signature editions, all with 1 goal – to win.
