It seems like New Era Japan have started to branch out into goods other than their staple head wear and apparel line. We had seen a glimpse of the bags released last year but they are officially launching the Bags & Packs Collection from the Spring/Summer 2012 season. The collection consists of Backpacks, Daypacks, Messenger Bags, Waist Bags, 4-Way Tote Bags, Reversible Duffle Bags, Knapsacks and Shoe Sacks. Best of all, their Backpacks and Waist Bags come available in seven colorways and we can only hope the other items will follow suit in the near future. The whole collection is currently available only on New Era stores in Japan and on their online shop.

Just an hour away from Detroit, in a city of Holly, Michigan, a rare breed of sports car is being built and tested. The Falcon is showing its F7 in a final production trim at the Detroit Auto Show this year. Its distinct exterior draws inspiration from the 80′s super cars and it is designed to fit drivers up to 6 foot 4 inches. This vehicle is hand built and the chassis is made from ti-welded aluminum integrated with carbon fiber structural tunnels, reinforced floor pan and firewall. Its body is also made from ultra light carbon fiber and inside lies a naturally aspirated 7.0 liter V8 LS7 engine and suspension components from the Corvette. The vehicle pumps out 620 horsepower and 585 lb-ft of torque, while the power is delivered through the 6 speed manual gearbox. From stand still to 60 mph can be reached in around 3.3 seconds with the top speed rated at around 200 mph. Only ten units of the F7 will be produced for now, so be quick if you want to have one in your garage. via: Carscoop

| mastermind JAPAN announces Spring/Summer 2013 will be its last collection Posted: 11 Jan 2012 04:00 AM PST
Before starting mastermind JAPAN, designer and founder Masaaki Honma worked at Yohji Yamamoto for about eight years. Honma has designed his own label since 1997 and he has announced recently that the brand will show its last collection on the Spring/Summer 2013 season. It may come as a surprise to customers and fans, however Honma had been contemplating the end of mastermind JAPAN for some time. Honma would prefer to stop the brand while it is successful rather than to keep going forward until its popularity will eventually decline. In his opinion, the perfect outcome will be for the brand to retain its popularity, much like the vintage market, and for the value of his products to appreciate over time. This way the brand will live on and his products will be appreciated for many generations to come. He has also mentioned that this outcome will be the best gift he can give to his fans who have supported him and mastermind JAPAN over these years. Although this is sad news for fans, Honma has left a huge legacy and we are sure he will make a return with other projects in the near future. via: Eyescream

Remember the days of clunky cassette players and CD players we used to haul around to the beach or the BBQ? It seems like we have somewhat come around full circle, albeit few thousand times better. Bang & Olufsen is recognizing the need for a high quality portable speaker that actually do the musicians justice. We have seen many portable speakers but the BEOLIT 12 from B&O Play is challenging the norm and setting standards. One of its key feature is the AirPlay technology that is integrated into the speaker system. This means, it can play wirelessly from an iPod, iPhone, iPad or your Mac notebooks. Two 2 inch tweeters and one 4 inch sub-woofer ensures the highest standard of sound and it is protected by an aluminum cover that wraps around the device. Still a force to be reckon with in the world of art, even at the age of 82, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and her polka dots artworks will be arriving to a Louis Vuitton near you this Summer. Following a succession of trans-formative collaborations with artist such as Stephen Sprouse, Richard Prince and Takashi Murakami, the Parisian fashion house and its artistic director, Marc Jacobs, have tapped Yayoi Kusama as its next collaborator. The limited collection will feature Kusama’s strange landscape of oblong shapes and polka dots of various sizes on Louis Vuitton apparel, accessories, footwear, timepiece, jewelries, and leather goods. The collection will also coincide with a major retrospective of Kusama, now traveling from Paris’ Centre Pompidou to Tate London of London before ending in New York City’s Whitney Museum. via: WWD

Whether he goes by the name “Aske” or pseudonym “Sicksystems“, its quite clear his works are attention grabbing. Recently asked by Nike Sportswear Moscow, the once graffiti tagger created a layering plywood composite and painted in the colorway of Nike Sportswear Air Force 1 Duckboots. Dubbed as “The Wolf”, the 86cm x 112cm acrylic painted plywood sculpture went on display as Nike Sportswear opened its first Moscow retail location last month. The Air Jordan IV GS sneakers previewed last fall are beginning to arrive, beginning with the kids’ version, which like its senior, will feature the original white, gray, and black along with the splatter print made famous with its initial launch back in 1989. The adult version won’t feature the black wings on the laces, but the overall silhouette seen in the GS, including the mesh toe cap and sides as well as the famous Jumpman on the tongue, will be what you can expect when both this and its adult version hit the stores in late February.
