| The North Face Purple Label – Climbing Jacket Posted: 28 Dec 2011 06:00 AM PST The Climbing Jacket is a staple model from The North Face and nanamica is revamping the classic silhouette for The North Face Purple Label line. Most notable improvement of the jackets are the use of original check patterned Windstopper material on the exterior. The red based Tartan Check material is made from 100% wool, while the beige and green Gun Club Check material is a blend of 59% wool and synthetic materials. Functionally, these pieces feature ventilation zippers on the under arm, hand warmer pockets on the chest, one hand adjustable draw strings on the hem and hood, as well as Velcro straps on the cuffs. | Challenger – Engraved Skateboard Trucks Posted: 28 Dec 2011 05:00 AM PST What makes Japanese brand Challenger interesting is its involvement in activities other than just designing the usual fashion items. It has firm roots in motorcycle culture and many of its crew also take part in skateboarding. In the long history of the skateboarding culture, perhaps these might be the first trucks that were ornamented by engravings. The intricate design gives a wood print like appearance with No Pain, No Gain engraved on the bottom. There is not much information on these trucks but it looks like these could have been engraved by hand. Stay tuned as these will be dropping on Sunday, January 1st, 2012 at Challenger store in Tokyo. | Nike Footscape Free – Spring 2012 | Pre-Order Posted: 28 Dec 2011 04:00 AM PST Just earlier this month, we gave you word on the Footscape Free from Nike and although the official launch is a couple of months away, pre-order is already available online. The lightweight runners combine the best of both worlds, docking the neon-colored, distinct Footscape uppers with white Free sole units. On top of the Safety Orange version, there will be an addition of Lime and Blue colorways making up the release. An extra functionality that runners may appreciate is the implementation of the Nike+ technology in the sole, allowing for instant data retrieval at ease. atmos in Tokyo is currently taking pre-order of all three models on their online shop right now and expect these to drop around February 2012.

| Stussy x SWAGGER – 12th Anniversary Collection Posted: 28 Dec 2011 02:00 AM PST It is most likely that these will be one of the last releases of the year from SWAGGER and they have certainly left the best for last. They sought out one of the original streetwear labels to come on board for their latest 12th Anniversary project. It is non other than Stussy who have lent their support in celebrating SWAGGER. The capsule collection consists of ‘Dice’ themed t-shirts and New Era 59FIFTY caps, as well as Shades sunglasses. Out of the three colorways, the black and white t-shirts are sold as general releases and the red version is sold exclusively at SWAGGER stores in Japan. All of the items will be dropping simultaneously on Sunday, January 1st next year at SWAGGER stores and dealers, along side Stussy Japan Chapters.

| Nike Football Pro Combat – Unveils New Integrated Uniform System For University of Oregon Ducks Posted: 27 Dec 2011 09:30 PM PST The age old saying of what quacks like a duck might not be a duck after all. Introducing the newest integrated football uniform system from Nike Football for University of Oregon Ducks as it returns to the Rose Bowl this New Year’s Day. Known as the most advanced system assembled as part of the Nike Pro Combat system, the new ensemble looks down right intimidating as an suit of armor. Bolder jersey numbers plus iridescent silhouettes in the likeness of mallard’s feathers highlight the uniform’s front and back. Wings of armor patten rest on each shoulder while a new LiquidMetal black finish gives the helmet a chrome-like mirror appearance. But it isn’t just the look itself, each of the components represents the most innovative in both designs and materials. In all, eleven different materials are in the Nike Pro Combat uniform, or around sixteen in total from head to toes. A base layer provides optimal ventilation as well as lightweight protection like carbon fiber plates along the thigh paddings. Next, Nike Pro Combat Deflex padding system offers impact protection from hip to knee areas. Then there is the Nike Chain Maille Mesh, another new material which will improves temperature regulation. Finally, a Flywire collar for breathability and to keep the jersey in place. This duck neither quacks nor walks. It screams and fly instead.

But the centerpiece of the collection is the reversible velour and satin jacket, once a popular item among Japanese street gangs and yakuza. Detail embroidered work featuring dragon’s heads on the black velour side and cursive double-S on the red satin side.
